Wentworth Wins 2 NARI Capital CotY Awards
Wentworth is proud to announce that we won two 2014 Capital Contractor of the Year (CotY) awards. We are the:
- Grand Award Winner in the category Residential Interior $250,000 – $500,000
- Grand Award Winner in the Residential Kitchen $40,001 – $80,000
Every year, the prestigious Contractor of the Year (CotY) awards are given to members of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) who have demonstrated “outstanding work through their remodeling projects.” NARI Metro DC members represent an elite group of more than 300 companies and individuals in the remodeling industry, and we are honored to be a part of it.
The Award-Winning DC Area Home Remodels
Residential Interior $250,000 – $500,000 Project
Seeing unlimited potential in the large 1986 home, Kalorama, Washington, DC homeowners enlisted the help of Wentworth’s design/build team to bring their new home to life. We transformed the kitchen into a space that opens into a breakfast/family room and converted a closet into a discrete powder room (off of the adjacent family room). The new kitchen features:
- A walnut island with granite countertop and bar stools
- Custom glass transom and pilasters
- Coffered ceiling beams
- Large-format porcelain tile flooring
- Custom backsplash

Residential Kitchen $40,001 – $80,000
Southwest Washington, DC homeowners came to the Wentworth team when it was time for a change in their home. The middle level of the home consisted of a galley kitchen (isolated behind walls) and an open plan living and dining room. It was time to take the next step in terms of opening the floor plan and removing the kitchen walls. The new kitchen features:
- Curved dropped ceiling (to conceal ductwork)
- Custom marble island
- Open shelving
- Handmade tile backsplash
