Our Scheduling

Proper Construction Protocols for Your Home Remodeling Project

Clients frequently ask about a construction schedule their home remodeling project. It is important to homeowners that their project is completed in a timely manner and minimize disruption to family life. As experienced remodelers, we understand this need. When we start a design phase for a remodeling project, we give our clients the best “guesstimate” possible. But until we have a final set of construction drawings (blueprints) with all the details figured out, it is impossible to be specific about a schedule.

Each of Wentworth’s home remodeling projects is unique, custom, and one-of-a-kind. Once we have a final set of construction drawings, we can become specific about a construction schedule. This is where our construction team utilizes the following protocols to complete our clients’ projects efficiently:

Scheduling Constructiondesigns for interior project

Our production manager uses Microsoft Project for scheduling each of our projects. Each phase of construction from beginning to end is documented with a bar chart (Gantt chart) and calendar. This chart helps keep us on track and serves as a helpful visual to monitor the construction schedule.

Daily Log Book

These books help keep us on-track and help us predict future scheduling. We take care to note all the details so that our predictions can be as accurate as possible and we stay on-target to completion to the best of our ability.

Job Bookphoto of job book on desk

A job book is a binder with information that supplements the construction drawings, as well as pertinent information specific to the project. Building permits, product specifications, cut sheets, sub-contractor information, appliance and installation specifications, and more all go into a job book. Job books are important for the lead carpenters, so they can do their work without delays.
