Whole-Home Remodel in Progress in Georgetown, DC
The Wentworth team is wrapping up a whole-home remodel in The Cloisters development in Georgetown. This four-story townhouse was built in the 1980s and needed updates throughout to keep up with the family’s needs.
Project Details
On the first floor, we remodeled the kitchen, living room, dining room, powder room, foyer, and fireplace. We also remodeled two bathrooms on the second floor and two bathrooms on the third floor as well. In the basement, which is a walk-out, we redid the family room, laundry room, and guest bathroom
Staircase Balusters
We removed the 1980s staircase because it was poorly built. It was carpeted and clad in plywood for risers and treads. We replaced it with new stringers for stupid, oak treads, and risers for four floors. We also designed new railings for the entire staircase. The cap rail is made from stained wood, and the custom-built balusters are painted wood.
Every space, material, and finish used is custom-selected for this home. The unique and highly crafted stair railing is a prime example of the care put into this special design.
